I did not want to use the usual imagery for this band. The videos of their live shows were so colorful that I decided to take some stills and layer them to get a feel of the color. That is the photo at the bottom.

While drinking "Merlot" from a bladder encased in pressed paper I had the desire to burn some time. The following images are from one of my sketchbooks from the last year. I jot things down on whatver is around but I try to keep this near by. This should be in chronological order. You will see "less of the same" written often and you will see the same often. Who knows. I am pushing 35 and still have yet to find "the" path." That might be ok. This stuff is not censored or made for anyone to see but what the hell. There are many sketchbook projects around but how many show the real process? You might be able to tell my state-of-mind with each spread but not sure. The spreads that are less legible may have had some experience with alcohol. Who knows. I do. I love looking through the years of sketchbooks. I see how bad ideas start out and SOMETIMES morph into ok ideas. If you look closely you may find some cool stuff. Not sure. Many projects start here. If you don't do this you should. Experimenting with different block printing textures. I drew a geometric Amish in my sketchbook a while back and thought it would be a good simple shape to play with. Could be Abe from my home state of IL or an Amishman from right here in PA. Made with wood, matte board, brayer on Arches hot press. I am not keen on the type at the bottom. May cover it up. I am digging the layered textures though.

I was happy to be included in an upcoming poster show at The Infantree. The posters will be on display and available for sale at/through The Infantree. All proceeds go directly to Build-a-Bridge to benefit Haiti. Thank you Tim and all who are involved for giving me the opportunity to help.

This poster is not a call to action nor will it be posted. It is strictly an item for purchase where payment is directed to a charity. Because of this, and the fact that it is benefitting an arts organization, I thought it should be artistic and thoughtful without being a blatant "tug on heart strings" composition. I just came up with this idea tonight while thinking about 2010 cards. Good for quick registration and not messy. Early prep as always is key. Measure twice and reverse image.

Glue cut to IFC, I used binding glue.

Place cut inside and weigh down while drying.

Set, now print on opposing page to reveal location of where to cut window.

Now cut out as close to printing area as possible with some room for error.

Once window is cut, find out by trial and error where the registration marks should be on title page. Mark em and print. Still working on a way to not have the print stick to the cut. I came up with this and got this far in about 2 hours. Photos are bad. sorry.

My sister had a birthday today so I made a quick emergency plan for her house. Someday I may actually get to buy her something she wants. I guess I will not have to worry about someone else getting her the same thing.
